Test and Balance is just one piece of the sheet metal worker’s union, but a vital one. Without T&B, airflow is just airflow. With T&B it is a working system.

That’s why Kocurek started an internship program with the University of New Mexico 7 years ago to reach out to mechanical engineering students in their twenties.

Essentially, that means configuring air flow in patient rooms so that coronavirus contagions inside the rooms can’t escape.”

Since researchers identified the disease in 1976, it has re-emerged periodically, sickening and even killing building occupants and visitors through contaminated water droplets from HVAC systems….
