Our History
Energy Balance and Integration, LLC is a company combining technical and field experience over the past 45+ years. Our combined staff and resources have provided testing and balancing services in New Mexico since 1976 and expanded services to Colorado, Eastern Arizona, and Western Texas. EB&I prides itself on setting up commercial buildings to the utmost comfort and accuracy and has been doing so with pride and honor for decades.
In 1976, Alan Weitzel, a new mechanical engineer at the time, formed a company in test and balance, Energy Balance Inc. It started with him working the field alongside a couple of other hard-working men with a goal to set the bar in test and balance, air and water. He took on apprentice Tony Kocurek, just 18 at the time, willing to learn with the same work ethic and dedication to providing system-wide balance and solutions. They were problem-solvers embarking on a journey in an industry that was still so new with fundamental principles in physics. Before long, this small company had grown, and its reputation for success along with it.
In 2008, it was time for more progress. Alan was retiring and retired the name Energy Balance Inc. along with it. As his long-time apprentice, Tony was the leading man and continued the Energy Balance reputation for excellence with a new company Energy Balance & Integration.
In 2013, determined to find the best talent in New Mexico, EB&I instituted the intern program with the UNM Engineering department. This program brought education to a dozen students wanting to know more about the world of TAB. EB&I was proud to take on talented engineers Rallin Harris and Elias Maestas full-time.
Focused on moving forward in an industry that does not stand still, Tony and the team at Energy Balance & Integration have consistently delivered the utmost in quality test and balance. Often thinking outside of the box, Tony has encouraged and fostered a team that doesn't just read numbers. Our team understands air and water in a way that makes it easy to solve difficult problems and produce a system that fits the engineered design.
